A note to all of you that are using the Modern Warfare 2 Javelin glitch. If you do it, and you get caught, you will get a 2 week suspension from Xbox Live. You will not be allowed to pass go you will not be allowed to collect $200, so in short do not do it. Playstation Network has no intentions to ban people using this glitch so if you are on the PS3, then by all means do it.
I can’t say that this is really an offense worth being banned for however. In Halo 2 there were the exploits of Super Jumping which would give you an advantage over other players, however everyone could do it, so it wasn’t considered something you would be banned over. In this while not everyone can do it because not everyone has the equipment unlocked, it’s not like you are host booting or anything like that. Should this be a bannable offense? Let me know in the comments.

I was in a game last night where 3 people on the other team were constantly doing this glitch… and yes, I’m one of those assholes that will file a complaint against you on xbox live for doing this. It was not intended to be in the game, it’s a glitch, don’t use it. I hate those people that claim that since it’s in the game we should be able to utilize it, which is a ridiculous argument and I’m sure Infinity Ward will be patching this issue soon enough. But for those that feel like using it just know that I, and I’m sure others, will definitely file a complaint against you if you’re using it in a match. Learn to play the game the way it was meant to be played.

I agree with you however I think being suspended for doing it is harsh as it’s not our fault it wasn’t found in testing. I doubt Microsoft will really dish out suspensions, I think it’d be a little crazy if they did.

well since its MS, and we all know how they operate, im sure we can see a bunch of bs suspensions coming from this. we may not agree with it, but it is there system to do whatever they feel is right.

well just to tell u its not only limited to a javelin. I found out you can do it with stingers, thumpers (which suck) and at4′s. not sure about RPG’s.

well i can say this the glitch isnt fun to fight in a match but they shouldnt ban people if they have to pay for their stupid subscriptions. it’s just wrong…and what about the people who go to unreachable places? should they be banned too?

Just because it was overlooked by the developers doesn’t mean it’s not a bannable offense. I played yesterday and in almost every game I was in people were doing this and it ruins the game completely. Rumor has it that the patch is just waiting for MS approval, so hopefully by the end of the week this will no longer be an issue, but as for MS handing out bans, they are most definitely banning people. The first offense gets you a 24 hour ban and if you continue to do it you will be banned for 2 weeks.

I wonder if they banned anyone from using the infinite ammo for prone mounted LMG’s glitch in CoD:WaW. I really don’t agree on banning for this one. It’s a simple glitch easily repeatable by anyone. To penalize someone across an entire service for using something they should just fucking patch is a waste.
When you see someone running at you with a javelin out just kill before they get close. Stop crying about it.

It is an exploit, the makers can ban who they want for whatever they want. 2 weeks seems a bit overboard maybe but I think it sets an example so bring on the bans to those type of people.

Absolutely no worse than the Rush hack where you start out playing Domination and end up 2 hours later still playing a never-ending round of frenetic free-for-all in a refrigerator box – which can be fun if you have 2 hours to kill but real annoying if you are trying to squeeze in one more round before going to bed.
