Project Natal Wont Play High End Games

So just in case you were living under a rock for the past year Project Natal is an Xbox 360 peripheral that turns you into a video game controller. It will basically make your 360 become a Nintendo Wii only it doesn’t require a controller. Pretty cool right? Well unfortunately I have to be the bearer of some bad news.

Project Natal was supposed to have it’s own processor, this would allow your Xbox 360 function as if Natal wasn’t even plugged in. That would be really nice, however it looks like Natal will now use the Xbox 360′s processor, up to 33% of it to be exact. What does that mean to you? Well now your Xbox 360′s three processing cores are now turning into two effective processing cores for your video games. This will greatly reduce what game developers can create for the Natal ready games. Granted the games will still be above and beyond the games on the Wii, I wouldn’t expect top end games that are able to be played with Natal.
