MySpace is Dying

I think it was pretty obvious before but now I’m pretty confident in saying that MySpace wont be around too much longer. They have given up on trying to compete with Facebook which has three times as many users as MySpace (I will assume my math is correct, MySpace has 1/3 the users of FaceBook) so now they will focus on what FaceBook doesn’t have. MySpace is well known for their music, every band that is worth anything has a MySpace page, and perhaps if MySpace noticed this sooner perhaps they wouldn’t be doomed. However now Google is most likely starting a music service (which from the screen shots I saw look a lot like MySpace) and of course when Google set their sights on something they can pretty much do whatever they want. Also lets not forget about Apple along with Microsoft who are both in the music business and to be honest I think MySpace has way to much competition now to stick around. This company hasn’t made a lot of wise decisions since Facebook launched, they kept trying to play catch up with a company that was playing the social networking game much better than it’s older brother.

Here I thought I would have a MySpace page forever, however I think it’s time to phase out my time on that site and focus more of my time on Facebook while I’m networking socially on the world wide web.
