Yup, the good old DVD is unable to hold all the content Capcom wanted to put into Lost Planet 2. So they are cutting out a decent amount of content they would have rather left on the disc.
What does this mean to us? It means we’re going to get a less than complete game when it is shipped. In order to play through the entire game, they way they wanted us to we will need to download it. Hopefully they are going to release these ones for free. However I seriously doubt that will happen, if they would release it for free they would just give the Xbox 360 version a 2nd disc to install content on, much like you did with Forza 3.
As a PS3 owner I am royally pissed off because guess who is getting screwed over? We are, all because the Xbox 360 does not use Blu-Ray media and can not store all the content Lost Planet 2 was going to have.
However on the flip side, it is pretty nice. Because the DVD has now hit it’s cap for the amount of content we can store on it, Blu-Ray is going to take off. With that happening I would not be surprised at all to see more PS3 exclusive games just becasue it is able to store all that content on a disc, while the Xbox 360 can not. Read more on IGN.com
