The iPad is taking the internet by storm, many people seem to embrace this while even more people seem to hate it. Why on earth could anyone hate something that Apple made? We’ll delve real deep into this subject to find out why. But before I begin I wanted to say sorry for this taking a little bit longer to bring to you. I realize it was announced on January 27th, but on January 27th I decided to purchase a new Plasma HDTV so I have been mesmerized by it, also know as I’ve been distracted playing my PS3 in glorious 1080p with 600hz of tastefulness (I wanted to say tasteyness but firefox told me I was a dumb ass and that wasn’t a word….)
Okay so a real quick overview that everywhere all over the internet has already given you. I’ll make it in a list format so it’s easier to read and because I don’t want to translate something that was already a list, into an article. It’s just silly. This was taken from the Apple website.

My Take on All of This
This looks like a very solid product, you wont be able to multitask using it, however this isn’t a notebook or a desktop it’s a tablet PC Mac so it’s not something you should be using to do a lot of work on. I know some people are complaining about not being able to listen to music and write at the same time. While I agree this would be something stupid, I can’t help but think that Apple has looked into this and they made their decision after a lot of thought. Also the ability to multitask is only software deep, it’s not something that a firmware update could not fix. If my 800mhz Gateway PC can listen to music while I type up a paper, I’m sure that the 1ghz iPad could do the same. However I will get more into other peoples opinions later on, for now this is my time in the lime-lite.
When I was watching some of the official iPad videos I was blown away. I literally got goosebumps watching them go through everything the iPad will be able to do. I can take this with me everywhere, and if I feel the need to type something up and post it to my blog all I have to do is pop it out, power it on and I make a blog post on the spot. This would incredibly useful to me because there are tons of times I want to do a post but am not by a computer at the time and by the time I get to one my thoughts are gone and the article idea has gone out the window. Not only that but lets say I am buying something and I need to do a price check, I just take out my iPad look it up and boom it’s done. Granted you can do this on your phone however I think the iPad makes everything look easier and more straight forward.
It’s Just a BIG iPhone!
Really? Alright so while I do not own an iPhone (I love my Verizon service, it’s nice) I have to say that the iPad is more than just a big iPhone. Honestly do you want to jump on Facebook for an entire train ride? What about while you are at a coffee shop, do you want to do a blog post from you iPhone? I know I sure don’t, however with the iPad I could see myself doing posts to my blog, as well as just browsing around the internet. Not only that but the iPad will have a new book store so you can read all you eBooks on you iPad. I would love this as I read tons of eBooks about internet marketing and I have to say sitting at the computer reading a “book” is a pain in the ass. It’d also come in handy for reading pretty much any pdf file.
Yes this device is very similar to the iPhone and if you don’t want it because of that then don’t get it. But I am a Verizon Wireless customer yet I want a good mobile device so the iPad would be excellent for me.
The Name SUCK!
YOUR NAME SUCKS! Seriously, it’s not a big deal just because the box says “iPad” doesn’t mean anything. Call it the iSlate or the iTablet or whatever you want. iPod to me sounds stupid to me and yet millions of people love that product. To me I like the way Zune just rolls of your tongue.
The iPad is for old people!
This may be very true. I have to agree that the iPad looks very easy to use, and because of that I am sure that the baby boomers that don’t want anything with bells or whistles will use the iPad as their computer. They will use it to email and look on the internet and do everything they need to do. But just because it’s easy to use shouldn’t mean it’s going to just be for old people. As already said I would love to write articles from this device, and with the keyboard that I can buy for it, I can see myself doing it quite proficiently considering I have never liked on screen keyboards.
Netbooks > iPad!!1!!1!!oneoneone11!!
I’m sorry but every netbook I played with left me very disappointed. They were slow, and it was just like using a computer with a small screen. If I want that I’ll get a notebook. I want a device that allows me to be mobile and yet still be connected to the world wide web that will just work. The iPad will have applications that Apple certifies they will work. Netbooks do not, so you can get a new application for your netbook and have it work but be very slow, or just not work at all. Also what about battery life? The iPad will have a 10 hour battery life, and while not a huge difference the popular Netbooks by Asus only have a 7 hour battery life.
That’s it!
Alright that is all I have for now, please leave a comment with your complaint about this device, or with the reason why you love this device. Any new valid complaints about the iPad I will take a look at and if I feel it is good enough to add to my list I will do so. Hope you enjoyed and hope this gave you some good information.
