I absolutely love today it’s going fantastic, I get dumped over Facebook and now Diablo 3 isn’t going to come out until 2011 at the earliest. This is terrible timing to find out about this but as this slide show below shows you can see that Diablo 3 wont be released for “The Next Few Years” which is after 2010 so 2011 is the soonest they’d release it.
I think Blizzard needs to get off of their cash cow we have to come to know as World of Warcrack aka World of Warcraft aka WoW. I understand they are making a killing from this game, but they shouldn’t be sacrificing releasing games in a reasonable amount of time. A decade or more between series is way too much time and they are already on their third installment of WoW expansions since the game was released in 2004.
Blizzard needs to shape up and stop being so greedy or I will not be buying their products anymore, I’m sorry but this is ridiculous. Anyway if their are any single female gamers reading this….. (Just kidding, I’m taking a break from relationships until I can get stuff taken care of)

i agree a new Diablo is just what i need well done work cody

why would they nickel and dime us on diablo 3 and starcraft when there is going to be no fees to play them, starcraft 2 is going to have downloadable content that users can charge for, blizzard is making 10% on each one i believe. thats a little rediculous in my opinion and i do feel they are trying to nickel and dime us on that with no doubt, but diablo 3 is going to be completely free after buying the game. releasing a game with no monthly fees 11 years after the last one is not being greedy. Every other company that releases games within 1-3 years after eachother all show a decline in the amount of people that buy them and they eventually stop making them, diablo and starcraft and warcraft wont ever be like that because blizzard waits till technology changes drastically so they can give a totally unique playing experience in each game. Diablo 2 was nothing like diablo 1. if your one of those people who believes the rumors that they are charging a mandatory fee to play D3 online, dont, blizzard hasnt even mentioned an online fee for it and theres no reason to believe there will be one. I dont see how they are Nickel and Dimeing us on D3 at all.

My point is I know many companies that take 2 or 3 years to make an amazing game. I don’t see why they need 11 years to release one game, it is very ridiculous. I am very happy that they take their time but after a while they need to just get their asses in gear and focus on releasing the game. They have said Starcraft 2 would come out forever, they have teased us for years and releasing it in 3 parts is them just trying to make more money. They realize they can charge us $15 a month to play a game and they have a solid base of players. Now they are figuring out how to nickel and dime us on the rest of their titles. I wont be surprised if the new battle.net has a subscription service that would give you some extra things that they should just give you for free.
My opinion is while Blizzard does make great games, they are getting greedy, very very greedy.

Who said they halted the production of other games? right after the first starcraft was released they put a statement out saying that that would be the only starcraft ever. they changed their minds, but they are releasing the new one in 3 parts, first part you are only going to be able to play the terrain in campaign (my guess is to get a larger campaign focused in one game, i actually like that idea because it will allow for the story of each race to be focus on more) another thing is that they WoW devs and the devs of starcraft and diablo are completely separate. There would be no reason to put it off.
Blizzard always takes ALOT of time on their games, so this was to be expected. There was a 7 year difference between between warcraft 2 and warcraft 3. A 4 year difference between diablo and diablo 2, will be an 11 year difference between 2 and 3 if 2011 is correct. its slightly longer then most of their other games, but we can expect something good. in an interview in november of 2008 Jay Wilson (lead designer on diablo 3) had said that diablo 3 has been in the works for 6 years, making it 7 now, they like to make a good game, they dont like to push a new one out every year (well wow expansions they do). If you can name one other company who takes 7 years on a game to try and make it good, let me know, because i sure as hell cant. I think we should be glad they are taking the time, and they have been taking their time on games for a long time and they havn’t made a bad one yet. [well the first warcraft was a joke because your units would attack eachother, but they found a fix and released the same game with the fix labeled warcraft 2 (thats the only game that was a year apart, part of the reason was because it was before people really had the internet and they wanted to fix the problem)].
Companies like blizzard are rare, appretiate the fact that they like to take their time. oh and heres a link to that interview if you would like to read it.

Thanks for the info but I’m more hung up that they completely halted the production of their games as soon as they released WoW. The gap between Starcraft and Diablo releases is incredibly massive and it seemed like they were close to being done with Diablo 3 and Starcraft 2 was supposed to be released how long ago? It’s just very annoying because other developers with less income coming into them each month are capable of releasing excellent games every year or every other year. A decade or more to release a new installment of a game is a HUGE gap.

Yeah, how dare they be so greedy as to put time into a game before its release. You have no reason to be upset until the game comes out. In the meantime, you’re paying them nothing and they have no obligation to your satisfaction—they have no means by which to offer it.
If you’re that hung up about their release schedule (and I suggest you calm down, as 2011 is probably a very conservative estimate) go out and buy Torchlight. It’s an excellent substitute, and it was made by the original developers of Diablos 1 and 2.
