Do you have a couple hundred dollars burning a hole in your pocket? I know I don’t, but if you do and want to try to take care of your problem I’d suggest looking into getting a PlayStation 3. While yes I am a huge fan of the Xbox 360, mainly because it’s online service is the best online service you can have and they integrate it perfectly with their console. However the PlayStation network is completely free and while the original Xbox had a better online service than the next gen PlayStation 3, it’s pretty hard to beat free.
Anyway I think I promised you 5 good reasons to buy a PlayStation 3 this Holiday season. I’ll be honest this list is 5 of the best exclusives you can get for the PS3 this year, so while it may not be the “best” list I’ll challenge my readers to give me their reasons to buy the PS3 if you were only going to buy one game console. I’ll take note and in a week or so I’ll give you a new, better article containing all the reasons why the PlayStation 3 rocks everyone’s socks off.
5. Valkyria Chronicles
Originally developed for the Xbox 360, Valkyria Chronicles features a unique mix of genres: third-person shooter, strategy and role-playing. As a result, the gameplay feels fresh and original. With beautiful graphics and an engrossing story to boot, Valkyria Chronicles is one of the best exclusive games on the system so far.
4. Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
No Playstation 3 exclusive was more anticipated than Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. The final saga for Solid Snake easily lives up to the tremendous hype with an unforgettable cinematic experience that streamlines the classic stealth gameplay from the long-running series. Not to mention that the much underrated Metal Gear Online provides plenty of fun long after you finish the epic story.
3. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
As great as Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune was, the sequel absolutely blows it out of the water. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves features a far more epic and better paced single-player campaign. Moreover, you have plenty of cooperative and competitive online multiplayer modes to plow through as well. Add in the fact that Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is by far the best-looking game on the system and you have yourself one of the best exclusive titles on the Playstation 3 as of the end of 2009.
2. Demon’s Souls
On the surface, Demon’s Souls doesn’t seem all that great. Once you are comfortable with the game’s unique mechanics, however, you will be addicted. Although it may be difficult at times, this RPG is also undeniably fun thanks to the deep combat system and engrossing worlds. Not to mention that it also comes with several unique online features, such as cooperative and competitive play. Although Demon’s Souls may not be for everyone, those who are willing to give the game a shot will find it among the best exclusive games on the Playstation 3.
1. LittleBigPlanet
LittleBigPlanet pretty much has everything you want for an exclusive game: outstanding graphics, fun online multiplayer and an instantly recognizable protagonist in Sackboy. The 2D physics-based platformer also pushes new grounds with the ability to create and share user-create levels over the Playstation Network. Moreover, it is constantly evolving thanks to constant updates that adds new features in addition to the endless streams of levels. You won’t find a better exclusive on the Playstation 3 than LittleBigPlanet.
Please give me some feedback. What are good reasons to buy a PlayStation 3? Other than these exclusives, I want to give you some homework. Tell me why you bought or will buy a PlayStation 3 over the other 2 consoles.

LBP is one of the reasons i recently bought my ps3… and its amazing lol… dont buy used though, just go for the game of the year edition, the extras you get are worth spending the 60 bucks on.. I am getting uncharted 2 this weekend and plan on getting mgs4 in the near future.
Some other good reasons are Bluray movies, Killzone 2, MAG coming out in a few months (256 online multiplayer games in it, def worth checking out), and free online play that rivals xbox live.
I have to warn you though, if you want to play online using the wireless adapter in the ps3 you need a dual band router, or it will cause you to be booted from anything online with ps3… if you dont have a dual band router you can use a ethernet cable and be just fine, or get a dual band router. my friend just went through that whole mess because he too recently bought a ps3 and kept getting internet interrupted.

Actually you do not need a dual-band router you just need to open the proper ports which i did for my friend and it worked just fine afterwards if you need those ports i can most likely get a list for you

Cody: Thanks for the solution to my PS3 wireless issue. I had no idea it was because of the router that everything got booted from the network everytime I turned on the PS3. I’ve just dealt with it, but it was really annoying when LBP wouldn’t update because when it went from the game back to the dashboard to download the update, it would get kicked offline.
A little more on topic, the only reason I bought the PS3 was because, at the time, it was the cheapest, most powerful, future-proof blu-ray player on the market. I still only own one game (LittleBigPlanet) and have no plans to buy any other games, it’s strictly my main blu-ray player.

Ahh, I think i know who your talking about muam, and he told me you updated his routers firmware… I use to have the same exact router as him so that was probably my problem too, cable company gave me a free router though and everything works good on it so far.
i think i need to add the ports too though, because i have had an instance or 2 where it wont connect me to PS home or into Little big planet online… so if you feel like typing out that list it would be greatly appretiated.
